We have just completed the refurbishment of a former power press shop and the installation of plant, machinery, administration and quality facilities for Erodex UK.
From this facility Erodex will operate their carbon brush manufacture and despatch. The plant also houses the carbon machine shop for such customers as Rolls Royce Aerospace.
Our works included new mains distribution and twenty eight machine supplies. The machines include CNC capstons, millers and grinding machines. The carbon brush facility has a range of bespoke machines for cutting drilling and tamping. The shop also have ducted extract and ventilation systems.
We have installed an energy efficient lighting scheme to the production areas using the latest T5 fluorescent technology and polished aluminium reflectors. The previous scheme used T12 fluorescent lighting in 8ft form. Our calculations show that the payback of the scheme will be under three years and also greatly improves the companies carbon footprint; no pun intended.
For the distribution system we used Schneider m.c.c.b. panel boards and distribution boards. We always specify this equipment as it is top class and is perfectly suited to a rigorous environment such as carbon manufacturing.
