We have recently completed the conversion of existing metal halide light fittings to the main machine shop.
The new lighting scheme utilizes LED lamp technology which reduces the consumption of energy from 300 Watts per fitting to 60 Watts. Overall the scheme is likely to pay for itself within twelve months and provide ongoing electricity savings of many hundreds of pounds per year.
In addition the LED lamps run much cooler and do not bake oil residue on the glass to inhibit light output.
With lamp expectancy much improved over earlier LED technology it is without doubt an easy decision to convert to LED.
